Communities in Schools Virtual Camp Registration- Jean Ribault Middle (Returning After School students ONLY)
COVID-19 impact on Summer Camps

Following public health guidelines, we are carefully monitoring the ongoing situation. Like many of you, this uncertainty impacts our planning for summer camp We provide meaningful summer experiences for our campers, but we are also realistic about many families’ ability to plan given the uncertainty. Our teams: Program Managers, teachers and enrichment staff and our DCPS partners are actively planning the transition of summer camps to virtual, remote sessions. We want to continue to offer interesting and valuable learning experiences to our parents/campers.

When :The Communities In Schools of Jacksonville Summer Learning Program will kick off on Monday, June 8th through Friday, July 17th. Student will be able to access the program through Microsoft TEAMS, the same way they currently do for their school day. Each day will start at 9:00a and end at 3:00p, and will be broken up in the following way:

9:00a-11:00a: Academic Focus with certified teachers

11:00a-1:00p: Break for lunch/school meals pick up(where available)

1:00p-3:00p: Enrichment Activities

We are working on creative ways to keep your student engaged and actively involved over the 6-week period. The Wednesday prior to each week of camp, supply bags will be provided for pick up at each school site so students can participate in the academic and enrichment activities that are planned.

There will be a Virtual Parent/Camper Orientation on Thursday, June 4th at 10:00am for Elementary students, and Friday, June 5th at 10:00am for Middle School students. Meeting access information will be provided once your student’s application has been received.

How to enroll your student:
Students who participated in the Communities In Schools After School Program during the 2019-2020 School Year, are able to roll-over their application for Summer Camp but will need to sign an amendment, giving parent/guardian consent for their participation. These forms will be available to be signed at the respective sites during lunch pick up, 11:00a-1:00p) starting Tuesday, May 26th, also, you may find on the link on the www.cisjax.org website.

We appreciate your patience and continued involvement as we work through this new way of staying connected with your student!
