History & Heritage Series activities taking place throughout the college community are planned by committees of faculty, staff, and students.  As the coordinator of these committees, I commend you for supporting these activities however you can.  Whether you can serve on a committee, support the events, or encourage your students to attend events as part of a course or program, HHS activities increase students' sense of belonging, which has documented academic and personal benefits, and directly impacts retention and completion rates!  HHS activities also increase our cultural competence, antiracism, and advocacy skills.
