*This is a volunteer position and no financial compensation will be offered. While not guaranteed, volunteers may be invited to attend free industry workshops alongside mentees during the mentees' PBChat mentorship period. This position is NOT an opportunity to seek referrals or educational or business-related guidance from PBChat guests or donors.

While PBChat is not an SCBWI-affiliated event, we operate using the SCBWI Anti-Harassment Policy (https://www.scbwi.org/anti-harassment-statement/). Harassment and/or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated and will result in swift termination of the volunteer.


DUTIES INCLUDE:

1) Presenting possible topics for future chats.

2) Generating questions for PBChat's bi-weekly chat using a combination of questions generated by you and the PBChat community and running them by Justin and PBChat guests before events. More information to be provided to the selected candidate.

3) Helping create PBChat graphics for PBChat chats, giveaways, promotions, and other opportunities and events using PBChat's Canva Pro account.

4) Possibly programing and pre-scheduling to tweet the entire program/lineup (including all texts and graphics) for bi-weekly Twitter chats and other opportunities and events using Twitter.

5) Using Wakelet.com to create and post PBChat transcripts via Twitter the day after each bi-weekly chat.

6) Creating and managing a public calendar, accessible to the PBChat community, that contains the dates, topics, guests, and other information related to past and forthcoming chats and events.

7) Coordinating giveaways (this includes working with Justin and the mentor and mentee liaisons to figure out what giveaways needed to be coordinated and when), creating giveaway graphics, posting the giveaways to Twitter (along with all rules of entry), selecting the winner, and directing them to the PBChat email (so Justin can ship their prize).

7) Managing a Google Doc of all chats and giveaways organized.

8) Facilitating critique group match-up events, fielding applications, creating groups, and connecting members.

9) Possibly helping organize the annual PBChat Festival (a free online Twitter festival for picture book creators).

10) Meeting with Justin and other PBChat volunteers on a bi-weekly to monthly basis (depending up on the time of year) via Zoom to check in, share updates, brain storm, and create plans of action.
