This year, our MooreKids Teen Volunteer theme will be working together to serve our community. Due to the circumstances caused by the pandemic, many of our traditional MooreKids service activities have been cancelled. We are doing our best to find ways to help those in our community who need help most and provide meaningful community service opportunities to you and your families. Our hands-on service opportunities will be shifting to include projects and partnerships with other area nonprofits and organizations, and some may even be outside of Moorestown. Our goal is to provide you with options to participate in service activities every month, and we will continue to plan with optimism and flexibility as we look for new and creative way to support those in need in our community. MooreKids is still an organization focused on providing financial assistance to students to allow them to participate in extracurricular and enrichment activities, and we will continue to fundraise so that we may support our mission. This year, we are asking for a $25 donation from every applicant, which will go directly into our scholarship fund. (If making a donation presents a financial hardship for your family, you will not be excluded from participation. This information will be kept confidential.)

There are no required activities or meetings because of the varied schedules of our student volunteers, although we may schedule zoom calls from time to time, particularly for students involved in planning a project. We will sign service hours forms based on the volunteer work you do as part of MooreKids. If service is performed as part of another local nonprofit or organization, a representative from that organization will be required to sign your Community Service Hours form. If service is remote/virtual, parents may be asked to verify participation.

+Please note, we are unsure what the leadership roles will be (if any). There is a chance that leadership roles may evolve over time or may not even be practical or applicable this year. We may simply ask for volunteers to step up and serve as a lead for each upcoming event.
