Early Literacy Instruction and Classroom Music - Mon, March 28, 2022 (7:00 - 8:00 pm)
This workshop is intended for elementary music educators, but all educators are welcome and should be able to take valuable insights from Mr. Rosas' session.

PRESENTER:  Our presenter is Steve Rosas, a K-2 Reading Interventionist at Valley View Elementary in the Columbia Heights School District. He also serves as an adjunct instructor at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota for the M.A. in English as a Second Language program and the K-12 Reading Teacher Certification program. Steve works to increase reading achievement by identifying and remediating language deficits through researched based instruction. He received his B.A. in Music Education from Luther college in 2009 and his M.A. in Literacy Education from Saint Mary's of MN in 2012.

• This session aligns with the Minnesota relicensure required topic of reading preparation.
• The seminar is hosted by Tony Rangel, Forward Motion and Wendy Barden, Perpich Center for Arts Education.
