Please submit your request to the SMP Director using the following form.  He will review this request and respond to you as soon as possible.  (Note:  Also use this form if you would like to request special permission to arrive to the Summer Mountain Project late.)

Policy:  The Summer Mountain Project is a unique nine week project in which each week builds on the week before it.  It is crucial that we guard the continuity of the project and the environment it creates.  This is for your safety and your parents' peace of mind.  We need the specific times and dates of your arrival / departure in order decide how it will affect your job's work hours.  Therefore, no out of town trips are permitted with the exception of the following:

1. Emergencies:  Such as death or serious illness in the family, etc.  The SMP Director would need to be contacted and arrangements would be made immediately.

2. Weddings:  If the SMP participant is IN the ceremony (Bridesmaid, Groomsmen) or an immediate family member (sibling, child) of the groom or bride.

3. Military Duty:  If you have been accepted to SMP and are required to attend a short-term military training drill or required short-term activity with your unit.

On very rare occasions, there are other obligations or previous commitments that are taken into consideration.  In the event that such a situation exists and you wish to request a temporary leave of absence, you must submit your request to the SMP Director.  ALL OUT OF TOWN TRIP REQUESTS will be handled on a case by case basis, and need to be submitted prior to SMP Commitment Deadline on April 15, 2024.
