2023 APS-GSCCM Early Career and Student Symposium Registration and Financial Assistance
Instructions (PLEASE READ):

•This form includes the registration for the Early Career and Student symposium, abstract submission, and the financial travel award application. The financial assistance application is optional for registrants.

•Registration for the Early Career and Student Symposium is open to students, post-docs, and other early career scientists within 5 years of their PhD. An abstract is required for registrants planning to give an oral presentation, lightening talk, or poster. Deadline for the registration is February 24, 2023.

•Please submit an abstract specifically for presenting at the symposium. This will be an abstract submission separate from the main SCCM conference. You may submit the same abstract to both the symposium and the main conference if you wish.

•Only current students and those within two years of their PhD will be considered for the financial assistance. Travel awards of up to $500 (domestic travel) and $800 (foreign travel). Travel awards may include multiple nights of hotel accommodations. Applicants for financial assistance must provide a resume (2 pages max) AND a letter of support from their supervisor. Applying for a travel award is optional.

•A letter of support and a resume are required for financial assistance . The resume (2 pages max) AND letter of support should be sent to  Belinda Pacheco (bpacheco@lanl.gov) and Sakun Duwal (sduwal@sandia.gov) with the subject line “SCCM + Your Name”. Deadline for submission is February 24, 2023.

•IF YOU MISS THIS DEADLINE please still submit this form and inform Belinda Pacheco that you have done so. We will accommodate you as best we can.  

Note: A letter of support from a supervisor is required for registrants being considered for a travel award. The letter should convey 1) the supervisor's support for the registrant attending and presenting at the symposium, and 2) a brief explanation (2-3 sentences) of the importance/relevance of the registrant’s work to the GSCCM. The letter should be no more than 1 page in length.
