The Professional Development Committee is seeking ‘Regional Captains’ to help PCACAC with outreach and supporting professional development efforts throughout our region.
What does a Regional Captain do?
- Support the work of the Professional Development Chair and Vice Chair; attend virtual PD committee meetings as called by the Chair/Vice Chair (monthly)
- Identify conferences within the region to which PCACAC could submit session proposals related to college admission counseling and/or send representatives on behalf of PCACAC to be an exhibitor at conferences (regional School Counselor Associations, regional College Access Networks) Serve as a point-of-contact within our region to support professional efforts of institutions, CBOs, school systems and other educational professionals, to include outreach to these institutions that are not typically involved in PCACAC
- Assist with organization of Drive-In Workshops local to their region to support a one-day professional development event for professionals typically underrepresented in our region (public school counselors, CBOs, community colleges admissions professionals)
- Support PCACAC Professional Development events through attendance and/or organizing and presenting sessions on various topics
We hope to identify Regional Captains throughout the PCACAC region (Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia).
