Open Call for Freelance Work: Writers on strike or who are currently (or at risk of being) laid off
Spool initially created this form in support of WGA striking-writers, but we're opening this up to all journalists, editors, producers, and photographers affected by recent strikes and layoffs as well. Our goal for this is simple and fueled by our eagerness to create, identify and pair those on strike and/or out of work with potential freelance work in the interim.

Here's the original language from the WGA strike which is applicable now in 2024, too:

While writers on are strike and unable to work in their respective TV / film industries, there's an opportunity for marketers, agencies, brands and companies to work with writers in a freelance capacity, providing exceptional creative thinking for said marketers and decent freelance work for writers.

This form is for writers and  marketers / agencies / brands who'd like to connect with each other about freelance opportunities. By filling this out, you agree that the information you've provided will be shared with marketing folks as they request and seek to work with writers. This won't be shared on a larger level, but rather, it's meant to organize the growing interest from writers and provide a few helpful connections and support the work you all do.
