The Mercer Museum & Fronthill Castle, The Bucks County Anti-Racism Coalition, The PairUP Society, NAACP Bucks County Branch Present the First Annual Juneteenth Celebration at The Mercer Museum.

Juneteenth “Freedom Day” has been a tradition in the US for over 150 years. The deep roots of this celebration originated in Texas, where enslaved African Americans in the city of Galveston were finally informed of their freedom on June 19, 1865, about two and half years after President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863. The celebration has grown throughout the years, finally being recognized as a National Holiday in 2021.

We are seeking sponsors to help bring to life this grassroots effort started by ordinary community members with the hope to bring the extraordinary celebration of Juneteenth to Bucks County. If you are looking for an event that will help you engage and build relationships with other businesses and in the community, then your involvement is a must.

We are envisioning a family friendly outdoor celebration for ALL community members centered around the pillars below:
   ● Educate about the significance of Juneteenth
   ● Celebrate/Uplift leaders and cultural traditions of the Black Community
   ● Economic Empowerment of Black Businesses and Organizations
   ● Community Empowerment by providing resources, support and building relationships across Bucks County

Participation is open to ALL businesses, vendors and organizations.  The event will be FREE to all community members. We hope that you will join us as a sponsor of this first ever Juneteenth celebration at The Mercer Museum featuring local vendors, artisans, service groups and non profit organizations.
