Cal Teach embodies UC Santa Cruz’s commitment to supporting K-12 science and math education. In a nutshell, the goal of the Cal Teach Program is to increase the number and retention of highly qualified science and mathematics teachers in high-need California public schools.
A sequence of three school-based K-12 internships and accompanying UCSC seminars are central to the Cal Teach program and are designed to foster undergraduates’ interest in and successful preparation for teaching careers. Cal Teach also offers a week-long intensive internship before the UCSC academic year begins each summer.
We are looking for positive teaching attributes that will add to the success of undergraduate internship experiences. Please take a few minutes to complete the UCSC Cal Teach Recommendation Form required for Cal Teach applicants.
