2022 Tule Subbasin Water Leadership Institute Application

Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) and the Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) are very excited to invite you to participate in the 2022 Water Leadership Institute in the Tule Subbasin. The Institute offers a unique opportunity for community leaders and water managers to come together, learn from one another, and develop skills to advance wise, innovative, and equitable decisions around water.

If you meet any of the following criteria below. Please fill out the application by July 25, 2022.

1. You are a resident of the Tule Subbasin (located in southern Tulare County with a small portion in Kern County) or a member of the Tule River Reservation. This includes and is not limited to the following areas: Angiola, Allensworth, Alpaugh, Ducor, Earlimart, East Porterville, Pixley, Poplar, Porterville, Quality, Richgrove, Rodriguez Camp, Teviston, Terra Bella, Tipton, and Woodville.

2. You rely on a groundwater-dependent community water system or small water system, have a domestic well, or use groundwater to irrigate a small farm.

3. You want to learn about the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) and local water management, develop your personal leadership skills, and are committed to promoting safe drinking water in your community.

4. Your water has been contaminated or you have run out of water because your well has gone dry.

We are very excited to meet and work with you and this year’s cohort of community leaders! We will review applications and get back to you by July 29th.
