The directed self-placement (DSP) process that we do at ASU's Polytechnic, West, and Downtown Phoenix campuses allows you, the student, to choose your own course path to meet the university’s first-year composition requirement. To make this decision, you will reflect on your experiences with writing and then choose which course option is right for you.

*Make a decision about which course option you will take
