As an intentional Christian community, the residents of Vista House are expected to participate in weekday (Mon-Fri) group morning prayer, Wednesday night community dinner, chores, and displaying hospitality to each other and to visitors of the house. What are your thoughts regarding the commitment to these practices? *
An important aspect of the Servant Scholars program is your commitment to weekly readings (books provided free of charge!), and your willingness to discuss the reading at our weekly Wednesday community dinners. These dinners will have a special guest (either a Furman professor, a clergy person, or a nonprofit Executive Director) who will share a little bit about themselves and bring up things they linked in the reading. You are also expected to submit a short journal reflection every week regarding your experiences that week, your thoughts about the reading, and anything that came up for you over the dinner conversation. This is the "scholar" aspect of Servant Scholars. What are your thoughts regarding the commitment to this? *
Have you ever been treated for depression, anxiety, or other mental or emotional difficulties? Are you currently in counseling or under the care of a psychiatrist or a psychologist or taking medication for related issues? If so, please briefly describe how you think living in intentional Christian community will relate to those issues in your life. *
