Casting Call

We are casting two lead roles for actors with Filipina heritage in a fully financed feature film financed by a major US funder and filming in August 2021.

The film is produced by a BFI Vision Awarded production company and written and directed by BIFA nominated writer-director.

Mother:
The mother is a Filipina woman in her mid 30s. Originally from the Illocos area, she has a slim build with a 5'5" standing height.  Her first language is Filipino and her second language is English. Being able to sing is preferable. Since arriving in the UK the Mother has been forced to live in a hostile environment, and has done so by doing what is necessary to survive and raise her daughter, even if those decisions come at a great cost and risk.

Daughter:
The daughter is a British Filipina 10 year old girl. Born in the UK, raised by her mother. She has never known her father. She speaks perfect English. Her second language is Filipino.  She is a smart and daring rebel challenged and conflicted by the decisions her mother and wider world have set upon her.

The project is paid in line with industry standards.
