Why would you like to submit work for this year's Gala? *
Describe your choreographic idea- be as clear as possible! Let us know your working title, if this is piece new, completed or reworked, describe the theme of the work, style of movement and vision on stage. *
We are interested in selecting works that will be a part of a process from creation to performance. Please describe how you will utilize the March 22nd works-in-progress showing and feedback opportunity, and your willingness to continue working/processing before the final performance (especially if the work is already complete)?
Is there music? Text? What is the music? Is/will it be live or pre-recorded? *
What is the length of the work? (Eventual piece should be minimum 8 minutes, maximum 12 minutes in length.) *
How many dancers are in the work? List who they are if they confirmed or are you seeking dancers? Are you dancing in your own work? *
Work Sample (please send us a direct link). The sample could be rehearsal footage or documentation of the piece you are proposing, or a sample of a past work. Please describe your sample and provide the link below. *
If accepted, full commitment is required of all choreographers and performers for both the Works in Progress showing as well as the two day Gala event. (Sunday March 22nd, 2pm: Works in Progress Showing with a facilitated community feedback session at the Mahaney Center for the Arts, Middebury College. Call time 12:30pm. And April 24th & 25th: VDA Gala at the Middlebury Town Hall Theater! (Friday and Saturday 10am-9pm.)) Are all performers and you the choreographer available for these commitments? *
If accepted, will you or your dancers be seeking housing? (Connection to local housing may be possible for April 24th-25th.) If yes, please list how many dancers. *
