Eagle Creek PTA Executive Board Application
The Eagle Creek Elementary School PTA is seeking nominations for seven (7) PTA Officer positions for the 2023-2024 school year. The responsibilities of the officers are detailed below. If you have the time and interest to serve as an Officer, please complete the following application no later than Friday, April 14th. Interviews will be scheduled the following week with elections being held at the PTA General Meeting.

Eagle Creek PTA EXECUTIVE BOARD
Executive Board:
All seven (7) officers are members of the Executive Board and will attend all meetings of the Executive Board and the General PTA Membership.

President
Oversees and coordinates all meetings, the Executive Board and committees. Sets up programs and calendar of events.  Promotes family and community involvement to build a sense of pride for our school with events and various programs.

Vice President of Fundraising
Creates and maintains relationships with local businesses to promote PTA and our school.

Vice President of Volunteers
Responsible for recruiting, contacting, and coordinating volunteers for PTA events.  Sets up committee chair positions (Freeze Pop, Holiday Shoppe, Boosterthon, and Staff Appreciation, etc.).

Vice President of Membership
Oversees aspects of Membership. Increases membership through effective recruitment throughout the year.

Treasurer
Responsible for all financial aspects of the association and maintains an accurate detailed account of all money received and paid.  Assists in developing the budget, prepares a monthly bank reconciliation, and submits a treasurer’s report at all general meetings.

Recording Secretary
Records minutes of all the meetings of the association. Prepares notes of thanks as needed on behalf of the PTA.

Corresponding Secretary
Responsible for communications of the association.  Maintains, responds, and updates social media sites and websites.

Additional opportunities will be available once the Executive Committee has been slated.  These committee chairs will be communicated to the community once the positions have been determined.

Board Basic Responsibilities - High functioning boards and board members do the following
1. Know PTA's mission and purpose use them to guide my behavior and decisions.
2. Possess a copy of and have read my unit's bylaws and standing rules.
3. Disclose conflicts of interest.
4. Keep confidential PTA's sensitive information and internal discussions.
5. Prepare for meetings by reading all pertinent documents prior to attending.
6. Attend All PTA and board meetings.
7. Prepare and submit require reports in a timely manner.
8. Actively participate in all PTA meetings.
9. Listen respectfully and consider all sides of an issue.
10. Help set and then monitor PTA's goals.
11. Play an active role in growing membership.
12. Read and understand financial reports and ensure my PTA stays within budget.
13. Advocate on behalf of PTA.
14. Contribute toward a positive public image of PTA.
15. Mentor and orient new board members.
16. Develop my own skills and avail myself of PTA trainings.
17. Actively participate in recruiting new board members.
18. Ensure my unit limits risk and is properly insured.
19. Ensure my unit complies with state PTA rules and files appropriate PTA reports, including reporting of PTA membership and office contact information.
20. Ensure my unit files appropriate IRS forms and state tax exempt and corporate forms.
