Faculty of Science - Course Conflict Request: Summer 2021 Fall 2021 Winter 2022
Deadline:

This form must be submitted to the Science Academic Advising Office no later than 7 days after the first day of classes in fall and winter terms, and 3 days after the start of classes in the spring/summer term. You will be sent a notification of the results to your OntarioTechU.net email. Processing can take up to one week.

Application requirements:

- Must have attempted and completed at least one of the courses previously
- Must be in clear standing

Terms and conditions

1) Submission of this form does not guarantee approval, even if the application requirements are met.

2) If a Science course was attempted and failed previously, you may be permitted to take the course when it conflicts with another course, if you are in clear academic standing and you agree to the conditions. Requesting this approval from Science indicates that you will regularly miss the Science course section for which you are applying. Approval will not be given when the conflict occurs with the laboratory portion of either course.

3) You will not be permitted to withdraw late or appeal your final course grade on the basis that you missed the lecture material.

4) Any in-class work is your responsibility and special consideration will not be granted because of the missed class time.

5) You are responsible for any in-class quizzes or assignments. If these occur during your absence from class, special consideration will not be granted. A grade of zero will be entered for the missed quiz or assignment.

6) You must attend any in-class tests/exams for both courses: If a test is scheduled in the lecture or tutorial time you are required to attend. Failure to do so will result in a grade of zero for the test/exam. Should any conflicts arise, it is your responsibility to notify the Science Advising Office at least 3 weeks before the conflict date.
