The New Researchers in Policing Network (NRiPN) aims to support new researchers who want to shape the future of policing research and have a meaningful impact on police policy and practice.
NRiPN is part of the N8 Policing Research Partnership (
www.n8prp.org.uk). Using our unique status as a partnership of 8 universities and 12 police forces, we champion, enable, and support policing research in the North of England. As part of that goal, we have established NRiPN.
Free to join and open to all postgraduate and early career researchers* at any university in the north of England, NRiPN will provide valuable opportunities to build a collaborative research network and shape the future of policing research.
Through discussion, events, and support, NRiPN provides the opportunity to:
-
Develop research, funding applications, career development, and pathways to impact,
-
Find collaboration, dissemination, and impact opportunities with N8 PRP partners,
-
Gain insight from senior academics and police practitioners, increase your awareness of the wider field of policing research, and stay informed about funding opportunities, events, and jobs.
To join the network fill out this form with your name, position, university and a brief description of your research. If you have any questions about NRiPN, please email:

*'Early Career Researchers' are those who are either a) within eight years of their PhD award or equivalent professional training, b) within six years of their first academic appointment (per AHRC definition).
