Digital for Gender Equality: Myth or Reality?

Sciences Po pour les Nations Unies is honoured to invite you to the first conference of the Women in International Relations Initiative, titled:

Digital for Gender Equality: Myth or Reality? Key challenges that digital transformation poses for policymakers, international organizations, and the private sector regarding gender equality in G20 countries

The event will bring together high-level panellists from international organizations, G20 governments, leading private digital platforms and research scholars to have a comprehensive exchange of ideas from international and national; public and private; and practical and theoretical perspectives.

The event will also spotlight the importance of protecting the rights of women and girls in digital spaces and addressing online and ICT-facilitated gender-based violence. The goal remains to highlight the role of all stakeholders and understand if technology is advancing or impeding gender equality, especially in the G20 countries.

It will be in the format of a 40-minute moderated discussion with the panellists followed by a 30 mins discussion with the students.

The panellists for this conference are:

  • His Excellency Mr Vishal V. Sharma, Ambassador & Permanent Representative of the Republic of India to UNESCO
  • Ms Chiara Corazza, President CCC and Representative for the Private Sector for France at G20 EMPOWER
  • Her Excellency Ms Delphine O, Ambassador, Secretary General of the Generation Equality Forum
The moderator for this conference is:
  • Ms Constance Cordier, Vice-Curator 2022-2023, Global Shapers Paris 

When? Wednesday April 12th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Where? Salle ERIGNAC, in building J (13 rue de l'Université) (75007, Paris).
