Thank you for your interest in one of our scholarships to support your education, serving on a future mission, or participating in a college study abroad trip. This is an excellent way to grow in your faith, see other parts of the world, serve others, as well as develop meaningful, new, friendships. Our goal is to enable people who might not otherwise have the financial means, to offset the costs of education and/or participate in a short-term mission trip with funding support through Global Education Ministries Foundation (GEMF).

Please understand that a scholarship is a gift from someone who was willing to make a donation to support your travel. Thus, we kindly ask your request is based on financial need. In an effort to be good stewards of these funds, you will find that we ask questions that some may feel to be personal and confidential in nature. Please know that all the information you provide is critical to the process and will be held in strict confidence.

Eligibility:
1. Completed application submitted within 60 days prior to the trip departure date

2. Current standing as a degree seeking student or study abroad participant with MCHS. Additionally, established partners with this Foundation or College who help facilitate clinical placement and/or study abroad missions.

3. A desire for greater fulfillment through service to others by participating in a mission trip or study abroad

4. A willingness to create an account and share your testimony and/or pictures from your experience

5. To keep an open heart and mind of being transformed through the power of love and service to others in need

Scholarship Application and Funding Award Policy:

The Scholarship Committee will not consider any application for a scholarship without the applicant having first submitted a complete Application (below).

The Committee will communicate the amount of funding for the scholarship award and applicants are responsible to pay any costs in excess of amounts awarded (e.g. through personal finances, other donations and /or external financial support).

All scholarship recipients are required to submit a testimony along with photos on your experience within two weeks of your return as a result of this scholarship (acknowledgment below).

Scholarship funding is awarded after confirmation of tuition and/or travel purchase and typically cannot be received as cash or given directly to an individual.

For travel: If the trip is canceled, the scholarship can be used towards a future trip. If you are unable to participate and must cancel altogether, the scholarship funds will be returned to the designated fund.

All required trip preparation must be completed before the scholarship is awarded and coordination will be verified with the sponsoring agency (as applicable). This means that all training must be attended, all paperwork is filled out and complete, a valid passport, and any balance of your trip fees are paid in full (GEMF will coordinate readiness with the sponsoring agency).

Upon review by the Scholarship Committee, a decision will be made and you will be notified of the results within two weeks from application submission.
