With funding support from the Oral History Association (OHA), the Western Kentucky University Department of Folk Studies & Anthropology and the Kentucky Folklife Program are hosting a meet-up for oral historians in Southcentral and West Kentucky to socialize and discuss topics such as projects, funding, archiving, the impact of COVID-19, and new technologies. Following on successful meet-ups in Central and East Kentucky, this event is part of a statewide networking effort for oral historians to explore mutual support and collaboration. People with all levels of interest in and experience with oral history are welcome to attend, and OHA membership is not required.
This event will take place from noon-2:00 p.m. CST on Friday, November 17, 2023, at the Kentucky Museum on the WKU campus. The meet-up is free and open to the public and will include a light lunch. Please RSVP by completing this form by November 5.
Participants are invited to come early to explore the Kentucky Museum, which is free to the public. Following the meet-up, participants are invited to join a guided tour of the
African American Museum of Bowling Green from 2:30-3:30 (the tour is free, but donations are encouraged).
