A petition to Support a Living Wage for the only Town Clerk in Tompkins County without one.
Enfield is the ONLY Town in Tompkins County that fails to pay their Town Clerk a Living Wage or provide health insurance.**

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1WfZkIlr56NGxtJy90g5HPasPfzFZjpcFsKDvDlzF0x8/edit?usp=sharingTown Clerks typically earn 30-300% more than the Town Supervisor, to honor their far greater non-discretionary workload.
The Town Clerk is an essential worker with regular contact with the public in a Pandemic. She is proud to pay her Deputy Town Clerk a Living Wage.
In 2020 the salary for the Deputy Supervisor position was increased by $9,200, the salary for the Bookkeeper was increased $2000 & payroll was outsourced, and the salary for the Supervisor was increased $4000, at the same time the Town Clerk workload was dramatically increased with 19 Special Meetings.
The Enfield Town Board *donates money* to MANY causes and organizations (list available upon request) but STILL claims they cannot grant a Living Wage to their Town Clerk.

**Caroline is also currently NOT providing Health Insurance for their Town Clerk.
