The presenter will explain the importance of reading aloud in English Language classrooms. Original research including samples of children’s reading aloud will be shared with the participants to demonstrate the strong link between competence in reading aloud and competence in other areas of language. Participants will also be given the opportunity for practicing their skills of assessing language learners’ competence in reading aloud.
