TALENT SHOW RULES

Talent show acts can include, but are not limited to: singing, dancing, acting, joke telling, juggling, playing musical instruments, magic tricks, and other entertaining (Family Friendly) talents.

1. Talent show auditions / screening will be held on Saturday, November 6 at 9:00 a.m.in the PAC / Theater. All acts are REQUIRED to attend in order to perform in the 11/13 talent show.

2. By submitting this form, all talent show presenters who are under the age of 18 verifies that they have obtained parental/guardian permission to participate in the talent show.

3. Be prepared
• If you are using a CD, you must bring it with you to the screening & have it clearly marked with your full name.
• Your complete act should be ready to show the show director on your audition/screening on Saturday Oct 30th NO changes in your act after that day unless you have permission from the talent shows director.

4. ABSOLUTELY NO SUGGESTIVE MOVEMENT OR INAPPROPRIATE LANGUAGE ALLOWED.
• All songs & dances should be appropriate for all ages to see & hear at any school.
• If your act is not appropriate, you will not perform in the show!

5. Costumes
• If it is not allowed at school, it is not allowed on stage.

6. By submitting this form, talent show presenters give permission to Royal ISD to share photos and/or videos of all performances on the district website and social media.

To be Eligible:
• The show is open to ages 7 through 100: parents, teachers, students, family, friends.
• Talents may include (but are not limited to) singing, dancing, instrumental music, skits, magic, comedy, martial arts, juggling, NO LIP-SYNCHING or BANDS.
• Everyone must return a completed and signed (if under 18) Talent Show Participation Form
• Participants who are part of a group act must submit their Participation Forms together.
• Recommended length is 3 minutes. Acts must be no more than 4 minutes.
• The maximum number of participants allowed in an act is 12.
• In all cases, decisions of the judges are final and will not be open to discussion.
• Absolutely no profanity or insensitive subject matter will be permitted.
• Costumes must be appropriate for all age groups and must adhere to the RISD dress code. This is a community event. Dress code: https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com/documents/asset/uploaded_file/442730/2020-2021_Student_Handbook.pdf on page 60.
• Acts are responsible for their own props and costumes.
• All performances will be screened for appropriateness by the Talent Show director on Saturday October 30th at 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
• If your act requires recorded accompanying music, the music must be provided to the Talent Show director at the time of the auditions/screening. The CD must be labeled with your name and song title. Only one song must be on your CD.
• It is the participant’s responsibility to get the accompanying music back after the show.
• Acts with any member under 18 must have a written consent from parents.
