Learning Friends are parents who spend one class period a week meeting one-on-one with a student. Any parent can be a Learning Friend – it just requires a minimal amount of time each week and a willingness to provide support and encouragement to a child. Most Learning Friends help their students with reading, writing or math, or often a combination of the three. You may help your student focus on a specific classroom project, or just spend time reading together.

This year as we can't have parents in the classrooms, we are making Learning Friends virtual and looking for parents who can commit to 30-40 minutes each week between 2pm-6pm to work with a student. You will be paired up with an individual student starting sometime in January/February and continuing through the end of school year. You need to be able to set up a weekly zoom ideally at the same time each week. We will have a Learning Friends orientation in January. If you have any questions in the meantime, please reach out to Emma Kostura
