President – The President shall preside at all Regular Meetings, Special Meetings and Board of Directors Meetings, serve as the official representative of the Highlands PTO. The President shall also meet with the School’s Principal or other School faculty on at least a monthly basis to discuss the business of Highlands PTO and to ensure that the Highlands PTO remains aligned with School needs.
Vice President – The Vice President shall act as Committee Chair for the Nominating Committee, assist the President, and shall preside at all Regular Meetings, Special Meetings and Board of Directors Meetings in the absence of the President.
Recording Secretary – The Recording Secretary shall record and distribute minutes of all Regular Meetings, Special Meetings, and Board of Directors Meetings, prepare agendas for Regular Meetings and Board of Directors Meetings, oversee the historical records for Highlands PTO, and maintain all official records of Highlands PTO.
Communication Specialist – The Communication Specialist shall be responsible for the delivery of all notices as required by these Bylaws and manage communications and marketing for the Highlands PTO (including but not limited to newsletters, email broadcasts, website, Facebook page, Instagram account, etc.).
Treasurer – The Treasurer shall serve as custodian of Highlands PTO’s finances, collect revenue, pay authorized expenses, report financial activity every month, prepare a year-end financial report, facilitate an annual audit, and maintain all financial records.
Volunteer Coordinator – The volunteer coordinator shall oversee and manage the activities of all persons donating time or services to Highlands PTO or the School on behalf of Highlands PTO.
Fundraising Coordinator - The Fundraising Coordinator shall oversee and manage all fundraising efforts of the Highlands PTO.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator (DEI Coordinator) – The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator shall oversee the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee as well as serve as a liaison to the St. Vrain Valley School District regarding Diversity and Inclusion events. The Coordinator shall also foster programs and training that eliminate implicit bias, prejudice and misunderstanding within Highlands to support the diverse needs of the community and differences that distinguish people, including, but not limited to, gender, race/ethnicity, mental, emotional, psychological and physical disabilities, learning styles, geographic residence, languages used, cultural heritage and educational level. The Coordinator shall also help ensure the PTO is considering diversity, equity and inclusion in the conduct of their activities and when developing events & programs for the School.
