We are arranging a 3-day Lecture-Demonstration with Vidushi Shama Bhate’s whose work spans over 50 years as a Kathak Performer, Choreographer, Artistic director, Educationalist, Scholar and an active catalyst of arts. She is functioning as a Guru in many universities – Lalit Kala Kendra – Pune, Nalanda College – Mumbai University, Bharat College – Nagpur University, Bharati Vidyapeeth – Pune. She will be accompanied by her disciple, Ameera Patankar.

Total eight hours of lecture-demonstration over a span of 3 days.

1. Rhythmic aspect of classical dance and Padanth
2. Principles of dance: Space...Sound...Time
3. Abhinaya in various styles
4. Understanding the aesthetics of Taal elements
