Register for the Bird Friendly Window Retrofit Workshop at the Museum of Ontario Archaeology
This event is part of the inaugural Bird Friendly London Spring Migration Festival being held from Thursday May 5 to Sunday May 8, 2022. Please visit www.birdfriendlylondon.ca/birdfest for more information about the Festival.

The window retrofit workshop will be held on Saturday May 7, 2022 at the Museum of Ontario Archaeology located at 1600 Attawandaron Rd in London. We will start the workshop at 11:30 am and plan to end around 2:00 pm. Before the workshop, starting at 10 am there is an optional guided birdwatching hike through the Medway Valley Heritage Forest Environmentally Significant Area located behind the Museum.

At the workshop, participants will be asked to help with the following tasks:
- Cleaning windows (spraying, wiping with towels)
- Applying commercial Feather Friendly film on the windows. We will focus on ground floor windows at the back of the museum (see photos below). We will be applying a new product developed by Feather Friendly: a miniature version of their commercial film rolls, with a 5 rows of dots per strip (not using DIY tape)

The date for this event is weather-permitting (no rain) because the windows need to be dry for us to treat them. Free parking is available onsite. The nearest bus stop is on Wonderland Rd N, route 09. You may reach the museum through the Medway Forest ESA. To walk from Western, Brescia or Hurons's campus it takes about 45 minutes. Here's a map of trails in the ESA:

Closer to the event date, an email will be sent to you to provide more details about the event, including how to prepare and weather-related updates. If you have any questions about this event, please contact londonbirdteam@gmail.com
