Fall 2019 After School Clubs
RESPONSE DUE DATE: Friday, September 6th

This is an online sign up for the Fall 2019 Greenbrier After School Clubs. Because of limited capacity, enrollment will be by LOTTERY.  Participants will be chosen by a lottery system and parents will be notified and given additional information for their specific club by Thursday September 12, 2019. Payment, if applicable, will be due by the first day of the club. If you have a club you would like to start or have any questions, please contact greenbrierpto@gmail.com.

NOTES:
*If your child participated last year they may not be able to participate in this session depending on enrollment.  Students not enrolled in this fall will be given priority in order to allow all children a chance to participate.

*For children who are in the CLASS program they will return to CLASS after their club. If your child is not participating in CLASS we will send a specified pick up location for each club.

Club options for this fall are below:
ART CLUB  - Tuesdays 2:30pm-3:30pm
Room 12 - Ms. Hathaway's Classroom
Grades K-1; 20 student limit
Cost -- $60
There is no wrong in art!  We will have fun using traditional and non-traditional media and explore different ways to create small and large art creations. There will be sensory trays set up for those that enjoy that experience as well. Dress for a mess!

FRONT PORCH A - Tuesdays 2:30pm-3:30pm
Room 22 - Ms. Bechtle's Classroom
Grades: K-1; 12 student limit
Cost -- $30 (subsidized by the PTO)
The Front Porch music clubs at Greenbrier Elementary offer students a supportive environment to explore music.  Students will sing, dance, and play simple instruments such as shakers, rhythm sticks, or ukuleles.  Songs selections are appropriate for children and focus on healthy topics such as peace, friendship, and nature.  
Recorded music is incorporated sparingly and will have absolutely no language or content that could be deemed inappropriate for school and specifically no language implying sexual or violent situations.  Any movement performed in class will be absolutely non-sexual and non-violent in nature.
On occasion, students are asked to create new lyrics, and the same guidelines apply.

Grades: 2-4; 12 student limit

COOKING CLUB with Ms. Plunkett and Ms. Kumar -  Tuesday 2:30pm-3:30pm
Room 21 - Ms. Kumar's Classroom -- PLEASE NOTE THIS CLUB WILL START ONE WEEK LATER THEN THE OTHER CLUBS
Grades: 3-4; 15 student limit
Cost -- Free (subsidized by the PTO)
Each week, kids will look up recipes, learn about measurement/safety procedures, with a theme each week for cooking club. We also are going to reach out to local chefs so they can be a guest speaker and do cooking demos for our kids.

LIVE ARTS -- Tuesdays  2:30pm-3:30pm
Room 19 - Ms. Barns' Classroom
Grades: 2-4; 12 Student Limit
Cost -- $65
In this introduction to acting, children will learn the fundamentals of an actor’s craft through fun games, improvisations, silly songs, and acting exercises, which will build their confidence, self-esteem, and stage presence. This class will also make use of short poems and familiar stories as teaching tools, so it will be most enjoyable for children with relatively good reading comprehension.

BACON STEM - Tuesdays  2:30pm-3:30pm
Room 24 - Ms. Keyser's Classroom
Grades: K-1; 10 Student Limit
Cost -- $10
The CHS Bacon Club will be running some fun STEM Experiments with our K and 1st graders!

CODING - Tuesdays  2:30pm-3:30pm
