Broadband Middle Mile Interconnectivity Interest
The Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA) with $5M in funding from HB21-1289 will administer the Broadband Interconnectivity Program. Funding for HB21-1289 was allocated from American Rescue Program (ARP) funds, so all projects will be assessed for compliance with Treasury guidance once finalized. Funding opportunities include regional interconnectivity planning as well as the completion of middle-mile broadband infrastructure.
Projects funded by this Initiative should respond to needs and opportunities as identified by the local government. Regional, multi-jurisdictional approaches to broadband planning and infrastructure are critical to the coordinated deployment of broadband interconnectivity. Public/private partnerships, such as through Open Access Network approaches, will help to leverage resources of both private providers and local governments to achieve broadband goals.
Grants under HB21-1289 are prioritized toward providing broadband interconnectivity between communities in rural or other areas that are currently underserved or unserved by broadband infrastructure. Please respond to the questions below with your interest in applying for funds through the Broadband Interconnectivity Program funded by HB21-1289.
