A closer look at the techniques available to staff, students
and industry at Swansea University.
In this session Dr Mark Coleman will be covering the
Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) technique used in Scanning Electron
Microscopy. This is a quantitative microstructural analysis technique can be
used for phase identification, distribution, texture, and grain sizing. This
talk will cover basic principles, how EBSD works and when you may want to apply
it for your R&D processes. There will also be plenty of time for questions
and experimental planning.
This session will be an hour long with refreshments provided
and is opened to anyone (UG, PGR, academic and industrial) with an interest in
the technique.
