Student Funding Application - Independent Research/Project
The Arthur L. Irving Institute for Energy and Society offers student grants up to $5,000 for enrolled undergraduate and graduate Dartmouth students to pursue independent projects/research in energy, climate and society.
The Institute seeks to transform humankind's understanding of energy issues, and driving the creation of ideas, technologies, and policies that improve the availability and efficient use of energy for all people.
The purpose of the grant program is to support student learning and initiative toward these goals by:
• fostering learning through experience,
• inspiring creativity, and
• directly involving students in accelerating transitions toward socially and environmentally sustainable energy futures.
Please make sure there is an explicit connection to energy, climate and society in your proposal. If we do not see a direct linkage in your proposal to the impact on energy, climate and society systems or how your work will advance the Institute's mission, we will not be able to fund your project.
In order for an application for an Independent Project/Research Grant to be complete, an individual must:
1) Complete and submit this form.
2) Email a resume/CV and cover letter to Irving.Institute@Dartmouth.edu.
3) Ensure that their faculty advisor complete and submit the required Faculty Form
