Nitrate Well Water Testing Clinic
Tuesday, July 19, 4-7 pm
Legacy of the Lakes Museum, Alexandria
205 3rd Ave W, Alexandria, MN 56308

Do you use a private well in the Alexandria area? Those who rely on private wells for their drinking water supply should test for nitrate on a regular basis. Bring a well water sample to a free nitrate testing clinic hosted by We Are Water MN and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture at the Legacy of the Lakes Museum.
Drop by at a time that works for you between 4-7 pm. Water samples are analyzed on the spot - the process usually takes less than five minutes - and results are given directly to you.

To prepare your water sample: Run your water first for 5-10 minutes, then put at least a one cup of water in a clean and sealed solid container. Keep the sample cold until you bring it to the clinic. Samples should be taken less than 24 hours before clinic arrival and can be taken before and after water treatment systems such as reverse osmosis.

This clinic is a part of We Are Water MN, an interactive story collecting exhibit that focuses on Minnesotan’s relationships with and responsibilities to water. The We Are Water MN exhibit is visiting the Legacy of the Lakes Museum June 23-August 15. Admission is free on Tuesday evenings, so come and take a look!

The nitrate testing equipment is provided by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture using funding from the Clean Water Land and Legacy Amendment.
