2024 Missouri Writing Project Invitational Summer Institute Application
As a National Writing Project affiliate, we believe that the best teachers are writers themselves. As such, the Invitational Summer Institute seeks to build a community of teachers and writers to support writing in all subjects and grades. We welcome applicants from all areas who are interested in learning more about the teaching of writing. In these intensive four weeks, we write, laugh, learn, eat, and build a lasting community.

Please complete all questions on the application to be considered for the 2024 MWP Invitational Summer Institute. This year, we have designed an in-person kickoff with an online component for the additional 4 weeks online. We will focus on three related activities: (1) teaching demonstrations wherein teachers hone and display their writing pedagogy; (2) study of current theory and research in the teaching of writing, reading, and thinking; and (3) practice writing and responding in small groups.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact the facilitator, Bryan Gaskill via email bgaskill@marshallowls.com or call/text (660) 815-0419. I look forward to learning and teaching with you!
