This is in regards to whether or not you would be interested in being considered for next year's Publication & Design (Yearbook) class.

Yearbook class is a year long class that is a lot of work and can be a lot of fun.

Your answers to this survey will be checked for spelling, grammar, punctuation and creativity.  It's something that ALWAYS counts in yearbook class.   Ask someone for help if you need it!

In a nutshell
Yearbook class is run by Ms. Selke and usually includes around 15 7th and 8th graders.  Students are paired up with partners to complete work on the yearbook which includes: interviewing students, taking photos, writing captions and sometimes paragraphs. We learn online software through Lifetouch and also market and advertise it's sale. We track sales and talk about the "business" of selling the yearbook.

We also learn how to properly layout pages, spacing, creating headlines and sticking with a theme.  The theme is set by the yearbook staff and the staff is run by a Chief Editor.  There are other editors as well that are in charge of other students and their deadlines.

The yearbook is a student produced, 96 page book that brings memories back to all Grand Mountain students in future years.
Would you be interested in taking Publication & Design next year? *
I can maintain a 2.5 grade average in all of my classes. That means you try very hard to not get any grade that is lower than a C+. *

Just for your information.
Students that participate in Yearbook Class are held to a high standard when it comes to school behavior.  That includes behavior on the bus, outside on the GMS Campus, in the hallways, in class and the lunch room.  Students who show a pattern of behavior resulting in excessive detentions, ISD or OSS are often removed from class. In yearbook class we are often in a position that other students "look up to" these students and poor behavior is not tolerated. This is something I would like for you to be aware of before you enter this class.

Attendance is also an important trait of a good yearbook student.  Missing 5 days or less semester is about what is expected (this does not include if you hurt your knee or have a family emergency).
How would you rate your attendance? *
I miss more than 5 days a semester.
I rarely/almost never miss school.
Write a few sentences answering the following: Which of your current teachers would be a great reference for you? What would they say about you? *
LAST ONE: If yearbook class takes place as the same time as another elective class I would... (talk to your parents/guardians about this question) *
Thank you for your answers.
