Thank you for your interest in mentoring. The information collected on this form is the initial first stage of the application process for potential mentors. The program will run for one year and will be extended based on mentor availability. All mentors will be required to attend leadership and mentoring training sessions prior to mentoring. All mentors are required to complete a Vulnerable Criminal Reference Check. Preference of mentors and mentees is given to Black males from the Black, African and Caribbean communities. Please note, within the Rising Sun's Mentor Program, we have a specific mandate, preferences is given to Black boys and youth from single-parent homes, underserved communities, vulnerable and at-risk youth, as well as youth in conflict with the law. However, all Black boys and youth that register for a mentor, will have access to a mentor. Person's interested in mentoring must be consistent.
