About the project:
Digital Migration Stories is an Erasmus+ exchange program between the Finnish non-profit social business Cooperative 3E and the German non-profit organization Migration Matters. A diverse group of 12 young participants will engage with migration in a European context and learn journalistic tools and storytelling methods in workshops and trainings in Vaasa (Finland), Berlin (Germany) and online. Over the course of the project, the participants will create their own digital story about migration in their communities.
Practical Information:
The project is held in English and runs from December 2023 to September 2024. Participation is free of charge. Parts of the project take place in Vaasa (Finland), Berlin (Germany), and online. The application deadline is Friday, October 6, 2023.
Project activities and dates:
- Project duration: December 2023 to September 2024
- December 7-10: Physical kick-off event in Vaasa, Finland.
- January: Hybrid workshop on storytelling in Berlin, Germany (participants from Finland attend virtually)
- February: Two online trainings (~2 hrs each) on migration and media in the European context
- March: hybrid workshop on solutions journalism in Vaasa, Finland (participants from Germany attend virtually)
- April: Joint practical workshop about digital storytelling in Berlin, Germany
- March to September: Development of your own digital story on migration
You are:
- between 18 and 25 years old
- living in Berlin or Brandenburg
- ready and motivated to learn about migration, media, and journalism for 10 months. (The project is not full-time, but requires active participation in workshops, trainings, and your own digital story)
- able to communicate in English (perfect English is not required)
