Tjian + Darzacq Lab Undergraduate Researcher Application

Our Expectations for Undergraduate Researchers:

  • Undergraduates in the Tjian/Darzacq lab typically spend between 12-20 hours per week performing research during the semester and 40 hours per week during the summer.
  • Most undergraduates work over multiple semesters with one mentor to assist them in their project. This may culminate in an honors thesis if the student chooses.
  • The majority of our undergraduates work for course credits and many apply for paid summer fellowships (e.g., SURF). We have also hosted Amgen and CIRM scholars.
  • We expect our undergraduate researchers to contribute to a positive lab culture by attending lab meetings and journal clubs.
