Information
The Urban Trauma Grant (UTG) was created as a “pay it forward” initiative designed specifically for grassroots nonprofits. The purpose of this grant is to allow small nonprofits to secure Dr. Akbar as a speaker for important events. The grant was developed in response to feedback from various community-based organizations that experience serious funding limitations, often preventing them from accessing quality training and workshops.

Dr. Akbar, is a best selling author and international speaker. She is committed to supporting nonprofits that serve underrepresented communities and who are dedicated to racial equity and the intersectionality of race and trauma.

One grant will be awarded to one organization per quarter. Grant includes:
One hour keynote or workshop on Urban Trauma presented personally by Dr. Maysa Akbar
