Please complete and submit this online form to apply for the BOC Level 1 course with a $1646 tuition subsidy from Hawai'i Energy.

Please also email a resume or essay to keley@hawaii.edu by April 9, 2021 to demonstrate your prior experience or goals that provide evidence of your eligibility for the BOC Level 1 training* following these instructions:


1. Please provide a resume demonstrating more than one year’s experience with a facility of Honolulu, Hawai'i or Maui Counties electric utility rate payer in any of the following areas: building operations, maintenance, or HVAC systems.

2. If you do not have one year’s employment experience with a facility in Honolulu, Hawai'i or Maui Counties, please write a compelling essay explaining how this training will help you help the ratepayers of Hawaii directly achieve Hawai‘i Energy’s mission and explain your current or planned role in Hawai‘i’s energy industry as well as what you are hoping to gain from having the Northwest Energy Efficiency Council (NEEC) Building Operator Certification training.**

*** BOC requirements include: class attendance, 70% or better score on class exams (20 multiple choice, open-book questions at the end of each class), and satisfactory completion of homework projects for BOC 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004 and 1005.  For Certification, a 2-page application signed by the student and verified by his/her supervisor or HR officer, must be turned in by the final class session.
