Fauquier Chamber Micro Enterprise Symposium: 2019 Call for Speakers
Thank you for your interest in speaking at the Micro Enterprise Symposium! After a successful inaugural event, Lord Fairfax Community College/Fauquier Campus will again host our event on Friday, October 18, 2019 from 8:00am - 12:00pm.

Our audience is made up of micro business owners (5 employees or less) at varying stages of their business development cycle. This audience of
- would-be entrepreneurs,
- fledgling businesses (in business only a few years), and
- established businesses
are all looking to take it to the next level, and will attend our event to receive practical, actionable advice to implement in their real-life business situations. We want topics and speakers that deliver high value insights and advice that propel the audience to take immediate action on their dreams and goals.

We are actively seeking speakers on a variety of topics and a diverse speaker pool. If you submit a proposal, here's what you need to know:

- Speakers receive one free ticket to the symposium, which includes continental breakfast and snacks throughout the morning, but are not otherwise compensated.

- Sessions will be 20 minutes long. You may opt to have a Q&A within your session if you wish, but the session must end at the 20 minute mark.

- Your 20 minute sessions should be value driven, dynamic, and appropriate to your audience. It should provide 3-5 actionable takeaways that attendees can use right away to impact their business in a positive way. Your session cannot be a sales pitch for your products or services.

- After your session, we encourage you to spend time at our "Happiness Bar", where you can meet and talk one-on-one with attendees to answer questions.

- We will request presentation slides for review by mid-September. If you cannot meet that deadline, we may opt to substitute another speaker who is prepared.

The deadline for submissions is Monday, August 5, 2019. Once speaker applications close, the Micro Enterprise Council will review the submissions based on topic, assumed interest to attendees, and quality of application.
