Have an overall GPA of 3.0 or better.

Reside in California. NOTE: Please do not apply to become a student employee if you cannot travel to the US. If you do not have a Social Security card, upon being hired, you must apply for one and make an in-person appointment with the Social Security Administration Office. In addition to physically being present for your Social Security card, you must also have a US permanent address on your De Anza records, or Financial Aid will deny your student employment status.

Have completed a relevant course (ESL 5, EWRT 1A, COMM 1, COMM 10, or a ICS/world language course) with a grade of B or better, or be a fluent speaker of the language you'd like to tutor.

Enroll in a minimum of 12 De Anza units (Fall, Winter, and Spring).

Have accumulated less than 180 attempted units at De Anza and Foothill College.

Submit an official Faculty Recommendation Form from the relevant course (Copy and paste this link to email your former instructor(s):https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScJlmZgsGI1z4HeOBvJ3GE_ITgXHDRULdBxlcZlEs_1b_ZDdw/viewform).

(If hired) enroll in LRNA 96 a 2-unit training class for LSC/GenSub tutors (Fridays 10:30-12:20 weeks 3-9 during the first quarter of working).

(If hired) attend a New Tutor Orientation as well as occassional staff meetings (usually Fridays 12:30 to 2 pm).
