EMDOD's EMIA 2023 Company In Residence (CIR) Residency
Earl Mosley's Diversity of Dance (EMDOD) is excited to present and curate the inaugural year of it's EMIA Company In Residence (CIR) Residency program! 

EMDOD's CIR is created as an extension of EMDOD's core values of cultivating, exploring, collaborating, and growing together. The CIR program offers an opportunity and space for companies to develop new creations or revisit sustained repertory as well as build connections with the EMIA participants. The CIR program also fulfills EMDOD's intention to support artists across the intergenerational spectrum, companies selected are offered studio space, documented performance opportunities, marketing materials, residency housing, and connections to grow their audience base.



Location: 

Time Periods*:
- EMDOD CIR #1: July 3rd - July 15th (Performances on July 14th and 15th)
- EMDOD CIR #2: July 16th - July 29th (Performances on July 28th and 29th)

*EMDOD's CIR Panel will be selected two companies for the EMIA 2023 cohort.

EMDOD's CIR Residency Offers Selected Companies:
- A minimum of 75 hours of space
- Housing for 6 people (at Hofstra University) (updated to 6 people!)
- 2 hours of Spacing Rehearsal in the Black Box Theater
- 1 hour of Tech Rehearsal (including Stage Management and Lighting Designer)
- 2 performances with EMIA 2023 participants open to the public (excerpted work including Stage Management, Lighting Designer, and Videography/Photography Footage captured)
- 1 Company performance open to the public presented by Earl Mosley's Diversity of Dance (in Hofstra Universities Black Box Theater)

Selected Companies Offer EMDOD/EMIA 2023:
- 1 Company performance open to the public presented by Earl Mosley's Diversity of Dance (in Hofstra Universities Black Box Theater)
- 1 Q&R (Questions & Responses) with EMIA 2023 participants
- A minimum of 1 workshop (2 hours) for EMIA 2023 participants
- Opportunity and invitation to choreograph on EMIA 2023 participants (12 hours for one week during the residency)


Please note that the deadline to apply for EMIA 2023's Company In Residence Program is May 14th, 11:59pm EST.

We will be looking for companies that engage 3-6 dancers in their process. 

Please note there is a $30 application fee. This should be paid to EMDOD through PAYPAL the website's SUPPORT page (www.diversityofdance.org/support). This will be attributed and matched to your application and, when both are received, your application will be viewed and considered.
