ACPNJ Medical Student Committee - New Student Leadership Application
The ACPNJ Medical Student Committee was founded in February 2020 by the ACPNJ Council under the direction of Kathleen Pergament, MPH, DO. Composed of student-representatives of nearly every medical school in NJ, our goal is to provide additional resources and programming to NJ medical students interested in the field of Internal Medicine to promote excellence in clinical skills, involvement in research and healthcare policy advocacy, and to create a network of ACPNJ members at all levels to guide students through important transitions during medical school.
We are looking for motivated students to join our committee, ideally representative of each NJ medical school. This is a strong leadership experience to include in your residency application. It is also a great opportunity for those interested in academic medicine, as you will work among a talented and motivated group of students interested in Internal Medicine across the state and will have the opportunity to organize and even create your own initiatives to enhance the medical education of your fellow peers.
Our Current Initiatives are:
1. Mentorship
2. Podcast
3. Medical Spanish
4. Webinars
5. Research
Your committee membership will be contingent upon active participation and productivity. The time commitment has generally been an average of ~2 hours per month of remote work via email and with Zoom progress updates every ~3 months.
Please fill out this brief intake survey if you are interested in joining our committee, and we will get back to you with next steps.
Thank you for your time!
