CCF Public Scholarship Workshop Proposal

The Council on Contemporary Families (CCF) is excited to host our first Public Scholarship Workshop on October 18, 2024 at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. 

Those accepted to the workshop will meet with a senior CCF fellow for a writing workshop on developing an op-ed, blog post, research brief, or other public scholarship piece that is based on your ongoing, forthcoming, or recently published research. Participants will give a short 3-5 minute roundtable presentation on their topic at the beginning of the workshop (to be listed on the program), and then will work with a small group to write and develop a public scholarship piece. Bring your laptops!

DEADLINE TO SUBMIT PROPOSAL: July 31st, 2024

Tentative Schedule: 

8:30am- Pastries and Coffee available

9am-12pm: Invited speakers on recent Family Policy topics

12-2pm: Free lunch for registered participants, workshops on podcasting and research tiktoks

2-4:30pm: Workshops on Blog Posts, Brief Reports, Op-eds, followed by writing workshops with break-out groups 

4:30-6pm: Networking reception and CCF awards ceremony
