Education Enrolment Statutory Consultation - West Dunbartonshire Council

In terms of the Schools (Consultation) (Scotland) Act 2010, West Dunbartonshire Council is now formally embarking upon a consultation with regard to the proposal to review the P1 enrolment date for children/young people starting school from August 2025. Enrolment presently takes place in the second week of January. The proposal is to bring this forwards by two months, to the second week of the preceding November.

The consultation will run from Monday 25 March 2024 – until midnight on Friday 31 May 2024 (a total of 30 days when the schools are open for pupils). All primary schools in West Dunbartonshire Council are affected by this Proposal Document.

There is a public meeting to discuss it on Wednesday 24th April at 6pm in person in Dumbarton Academy, Crosslet Road, Dumbarton, which is also available for people to join online at https://meet.google.com/tgp-jhog-qmd
