2022 EPGHS Marching Band Information
On behalf of the El Paso-Gridley High School and Unit #11, I am excited by your interest in the EPGHS Marching Band. Our priority is to continually strive for excellence in music, marching, and academics, while providing our students with a community and family in which to belong, learn, laugh, and grow as young adults. We look forward to a wonderful season and welcome to the 2022 Marching Band!
     - Ms. Emma Wierenga, Director of Bands

*As you complete this form, please carefully review the details regarding the student's commitment for participation and the financial obligations associated with this co-curricular activity.
  • $50 Marching Band Fee - Cash or Check made payable to EPG Schools (Please mail your payment to:   97 W 5th Street, El Paso, 61738, OR bring a check or cash on the first day of band camp. This is due prior to the start of band camp). This fee pays for each student’s marching band show t-shirt, band camp and competition supplies, the competition marching drill and show design, and more.
  • Students are required to attend all rehearsals and performances, unless absence is pre-approved by the band director.
  • Band Camp is mandatory for all students — not attending can result in the loss of your drill spot if absences are not cleared by the director. Please make sure to schedule all doctor appointments and vacations around these dates. Band Camp is one of the most important parts of the season, as the majority of music and drill is learned at this time.
    Percussion Camp: July 18-22, 6-8pm
Band Camp: July 25-29 and August 1-4, 8am-5pm
Thursday Night Community Performance: August 4th at 6:00pm, EPGHS Football Field
  • Marching Band Uniforms will be provided for all members. Students are required to provide these articles of clothing for their uniforms: Black Marching Band Shoes (Dinkles, Drill Masters, or Bando Brand), tall black socks, athletic shorts/boxer shorts/spandex shorts for under the uniform pants. All students will be provided a Show Shirt to be worn under the uniform. We have two large boxes of used shoes that have been donated -- Students are welcome to shop this box during camp. If they are unable to find their size, they will be required to purchase a pair.

Volunteer!
  • Our family, friends, and volunteers play an immeasurable role in the success of the El Paso-Gridley band program. Volunteering is a fantastic opportunity to support these kids, have a front row seat to rehearsals and performances, and contribute to the achievements of this organization.
  • If you are willing to volunteer, please contact Emma Wierenga: emma.wierenga@unit11.org
