Call for Applications: 2024-2025 Energy and Environmental Economics Mentoring Program

The Opportunity Lab (O-Lab) and the Energy Institute at Haas (EI) are pleased to invite applications from UC Berkeley PhD students to participate in the ongoing Energy and Environmental Economics Mentorship Program. This initiative supports PhD research in energy and environmental economics and provides research mentoring opportunities for historically underrepresented undergraduates at UC Berkeley. The program is jointly overseen by EI and the O-Lab, with faculty leadership from Meredith Fowlie and Reed Walker

Please apply by June 14th.

In addition to receiving project funding, successful applicants will select and mentor two undergraduates from within the initiative’s undergraduate applicant pool. The undergraduate applicant pool will be primarily made up of first-generation and underrepresented undergraduates at UC Berkeley who have expressed an interest in gaining research experience in energy and environmental economics.

Research grants of $7,500 will be awarded to selected grant recipients to support their research and their work mentoring and training 2 participating undergraduates. Undergraduate mentees will be expected to provide assistance on research tasks over the course of the academic year. O-Lab and EI staff will assist in mentoring and training activities and will provide general direction on program components. More information on the opportunity is below.

To apply, please complete this short application form and provide a link (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) to a single PDF file containing a three-page letter of interest, a CV, and a current transcript.
