We're
Edtonomy, an edTech startup
on a mission to empower a growing community of former classroom teachers (and current teachers looking for their way out) with an end-to-end software to build, manage, and scale their
private teaching practices.
We are currently seeking a focus group of select educators who have transitioned out of the classroom, or who are interested in doing so in the next 5-7 months. These individuals will participate in the first round of beta-testing, and they will have a lead role in adapting software features to cater to teachers across a wide variety of use-cases. Beta-testers should be willing and able to commit to the focus group for 4 weeks, for an estimated two hours a week spent between:
- exploring the software to provide feedback and suggestions
- a weekly evening Zoom meeting for feedback and discussion
We are considering candidates on a case by case basis, and invite individuals who, despite growing out of the classroom, are still passionate about education. We encourage any candidate who fits the following criteria to apply:
- Former K-12 teachers, or current teachers who are exploring other opportunities outside the classroom.
- Educators may teach any subject or grade-level (K-12) but should currently hold a valid teacher certification or temporary certification issued by their state of residency within the last 5 years.
- Individuals who are currently teaching/tutoring private students full or part time, or those willing to actively pursue and onboard at least one new student in the next 6-8 weeks.
- Self-motivated individuals who are seeking support to build their own private teaching business, and who are ready to be their own boss in exchange for a more flexible, autonomous lifestyle and schedule.
- Should be comfortable with technology for daily use and have experience with various edTech tools and/or business management softwares, such as Kahoot, NearPod, Google Classroom, Google Docs, Boom Learning, Zoho Suites, Honeybook, etc.
